Cancellation and refund terms

Version 2 · Effective 17 September 2026 · Part of every Whew booking

These terms apply to every booking made through Whew. They are shown before you accept a quote, and the version in force at that moment is recorded on your booking.

Nothing is charged until the work is complete

Accepting a quote authorises your card for the quoted amount; it does not charge it. The charge happens only after the business marks the work complete. Everything below follows from that.

If you cancel before the visit

You may cancel from your booking page at any time before the scheduled start. Nothing is charged, and the authorisation on your card is released. Your bank may take a few days to show it.

If you cancel after work has started

If the business has started the work, you are charged for the work completed and recorded in the app up to that point, and for materials already used, up to the amount you accepted. The business records what was done; you can see that record before the charge is made.

If the business cancels or does not attend

Nothing is charged. The authorisation is released, and we will offer to re-open the job to other businesses.

Refunds after the charge

If you raise a concern within 7 days of completion and the record shows the work was not done as agreed, we refund the difference, or the whole amount where nothing usable was delivered, to the card that was charged. Refunds are issued through our payment processor and usually reach your account within 5 to 10 business days.

Repeat and recurring bookings

Each visit is its own booking under these terms. You may stop a recurring arrangement at any time from your account; visits already completed are charged as above.
