How providers are paid

Version 3 · Effective 17 September 2026 · For businesses on Whew

This is the basis on which Whew pays a business for work booked through the platform. It is shown to the customer before they accept a quote and to you when you send one; the version in force is recorded on each booking.

You are paid for completed work only

Whew charges the customer only after you mark the job complete in the app. Your payout is the quoted amount the customer accepted, less applicable tax and Whew's service fee as shown to you when you built the quote. If you recorded a change on site and the customer approved it in the app, the approved amount replaces the quoted one.

No charge to see, receive or quote on work

Whew does not sell leads. Seeing a job, being invited to it and sending a quote cost nothing. The service fee applies only to work that is booked and completed.

When you are paid

Once the customer's payment has been captured, the payout is released to the bank account connected to your Whew account through our payment processor, Stripe. Your dashboard shows each payout's amount and status.

Changes, cancellations and disputes

If a customer cancels before the visit, there is no charge and no payout. If work started and the customer cancelled, you are paid for what was recorded as done. If a customer raises a concern within 7 days of completion, the payout for that booking may be held while it is looked at, and adjusted where the record shows the work was not done as quoted.

Taxes and records

You are an independent business responsible for your own GST, income tax and WCB obligations. Whew provides a record of each booking and payout for your books.
